May not look like it here, but this area just off

May not look like it here, but this area just off the Calamity Brook trail in New York's Adirondack mountains was a bit of a mess. This had been where the trail passed through along a suspension bridge. That bridge got washed away in a big storm, but after some volunteer trail work by the 46ers, it's finally cleaned up with remnants removed. No more steel cables strung across the water, and no more wood planks lining the banks. It's a beautiful spot to take a break.

The DNT hut system for hikers in Norway is unreal. Was glad to have become a member during my trip to have access to all of them, and when I return I will definitely join again. Beautiful place, friendly people, and the brown cheese addiction is real.
